Club Room at the Schlafly Tap Room

Since 1991, The Schlafly Tap Room has crafted delicious micro-brew beer varieties for all tastes, paying homage to traditional styles as well as forging new paths. The Tap Room opened as the first new brewpub in Missouri since Prohibition, drawing in crowds with good food, entertainment, and of course, amazing beer.

Where: The Club Room at the Schlafly Tap Room. Inside the main entrance, you'll see a staircase on your right leading up to the Club Room. There will be signs!

What to wear: Ladies, break out those cocktail dresses. It's time to flaunt it! Fellas, a suit and tie or a smart blazer would be devine, but if your wardrobe is without, just show up in your own studly way.

When you arrive: The room won't be open until 7 pm prompt. Feel free to mingle in the bar downstairs 'til the doors open. Once upstairs, grab a drink at the bar and find your table, the ceremony will start at 7:15 pm. Dinner will follow the ceremony.

Out of Town Guests

Have I mentioned lately how much you guys rock for globetrotting out here to party with us on our big day? Because you rock. Hard.

When to arrive. The wedding doesn't kick off until 7pm, so you can definitely arrive on Saturday in plenty of time. However, if you've got the time, we'd love to see you sooner! We're flying in to MO on May 10th. If you want to come out before the wedding, we promise to keep you entertained. Just lemme know dates and we'll work everything out.

Flying into St. Louis Lambert Airport (STL). From the airport, the best way to get to the wedding location is to board the MetroLink (pdf map) and exit at Union Station. The Pear Tree Inn is a short walk away, or take Bus 4 directly from the station to the hotel. Schlafly's is right around the corner from the hotel. If you're coming in ahead of time, let us know your flight details and we can come pick you up.

Coming from Illinois. For my Chambana peeps, the best (only?) public transportation to St. Louis is Greyhound. Fortunately, you'll arrive just a few blocks away from the wedding venue. It's about a 20 minute walk. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the train station, or take a bus from Spruce and 14th St. Three buses can get you there: Bus 4, Bus 10, or Bus 97. Or let us know when you'll arrive and we'll try to arrange a pick up!

If you plan to drive, take Hwy 57 South and switch to Hwy 70 West. Exit at Market Street, just across the Poplar Street Bridge.

What to do in St. Louis. Indulge in some authentic St. Louis-style barbeque, then grab a frozen custard at Ted Drewes, a St. Louis institution. Explore the climbable, evolving sculpture work by local artists at the City Museum. The city's Science Center offers movies and documentaries on their fully-emersive, domed omnimax screen. And the St. Louis Zoo is amongst the best in the country. (Best of all--both the science museum and zoo are free!)

Tour the famous Anheuser-Busch brewery or grab a pint at one of St. Louis' fantastic micro-breweries, like Urban Chestnut or 4 Hands. (The biergarten at Urban Chestnut will make you feel like you've stepped into Germany. And 4 Hands offers brewery tours on Saturdays.) In the evening, try your luck gambling on the large, multi-story riverboat casinos that dot the edge of the Mississippi.

Getting around town. The MetroLink (pdf map) offers convenient transportation around the heart of St. Louis. However, this isn't the east coast. You might be interested in renting a car. It's not necessary downtown, but it sure is convenient. Depending on who's coming when, we can rent a car for people to split.

Where to stay. For the night of the wedding, we've reserved a block of rooms at a special rate. If you're coming in to town ahead of time (please do!) we can arrange accommodation options for you. Just let us know your travel plans!

Note: The Pear Tree Inn by the airport is not the one we have reserved. There is no airport shuttle to the Pear Tree Inn Union Station. However it is easily accessable by MetroLink.
